Kassent Harb, shipping agent, states that:
“The direction Rhodes should follow in the coming years is quality and alternative tourism, as it lacks nothing compared to other renowned and world-famous destinations such as Monaco, Palma de Mallorca, or the Canary Islands. Rhodes is a blessed and highly renowned island, known not only for the Colossus as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, but also because it is a cultural bridge between the West and the East.
In light of the above, I believe that Rhodes needs a radical change of course rather than minor improvements. This first and foremost requires infrastructure projects aimed at improving quality of life and facilitating the daily lives of residents and, of course, the tourists who visit us. Among the immediate measures that must be implemented are the cleanliness of streets, parks, and squares; sidewalks must be comfortable, clean, and accessible to people with mobility difficulties; as well as many other small projects that will beautify the island and enhance its prestige and elegance.
Essential projects should also include increasing berthing capacity for mega yachts and luxury leisure vessels, along with upgrading electricity and water supply infrastructure at existing ports and marinas (the Tourist Port, Kolona, Mandraki Marina, and the New Marina). Furthermore, improving the island’s road network and strengthening policing will provide a greater sense of safety for both residents and visitors.”
