Deluxe cruises of the Croatian coastline will make clear why the region has become the newest European tourism hot spot. Croatia sailing cruises include city tours of UNESCO World Heritage sites, visits to tiny island fishing villages, and plenty of time spent relaxing on the beach and swimming in crystalline waters. Most Adriatic cruises will feature some or all the highlights listed below.

SPLIT

Always buzzing and exuberant, Split has just the right balance of tradition and modernity – the perfect place to see Dalmatian life as it’s really lived.

A common departure point for island-hopping cruises of the Dalmatian Coast, hides a wealth of artistic and historical treasures within its walls. The Makarska Coast, also known as the “Makarska Riviera” is Croatia’s most popular mainland resort. Featuring excellent beaches and a spectacular mountain backdrop, Makarska also offers some of the region’s best wines.

MLJET

Mljet is the first large island we come upon while sailing the from the southeast in Croatian waters. It is Croatia’s greenest island with lush Mediterranean vegetation, clear and clean sea, sandy shoreline and a wealth of underwater sea life.

The northern part of the island is a National Park, making it a well-loved destination for guests. The island has a unique panorama of indented coastlines, cliffs, and reefs suitable for various marine activities.

The word Melita – Melite in Greek has the same meaning as the Latin word for honey – mell, mellis. The meaning of the name of the island comes from the word for honey, as in the past, its woods were inhabited by many swarms of bees. Furthermore, this island is well known for its southern sorts of white and red wine, which receive a special flavour and aroma from the sun and the specific Mljet soil. Those who first come to this island instantly fall in love with it, and always gladly return.

DUBROVNIK

The whole Dubrovnik region is well-known for its fascinating landscapes, abundant Mediterranean vegetation, mild climate and interesting smaller settlements. In tourism, is now called the Dubrovnik Riviera. Visiting it, is not a complete pleasure without seeing at least a part of its surroundings: the good land and sea connections offer the possibility of organizing either shorter or longer excursions.

A warm southern climate, spacious blue skies, emerald green and dark blue crystal-clear sea touching the rocky shore and spilling into numerous coves and bays, onto sandy beaches and steep reefs decorated with the lushest Mediterranean and subtropical flora.

SKRADIN

Skradin is 55 kilometers northeast of Split and 11 kilometers north of Sibenik two very popular destinations on the Dalmatian Coast. The town lies on the Krka River, at a point in the river that is so wide, it almost makes Skradin feel like a seaside town.

The town of Skradin is built in a V shape pointing toward the waterfront on either side of a fortress-topped hill, with the west side of the V facing an attractive inlet and marina that is a popular stopping point for yachts in summer.

It gets totally overrun with tourists in the summer high season, most of whom are day trippers en route to Krka National Park. You can enjoy some peace if you stay overnight, and consider visiting in the shoulder season (May-June or September-October). In winter, the region gets unpleasantly wet and cool, and most establishments shut down for the season.

HVAR

That place is a favorite holiday getaway for Croatians, and it’s not difficult to see why. In addition to sparkling coves and sweet-smelling lavender fields, Hvar Island features Hvar Town, the perfect spot to wander the Old Town, admire Venetian architecture, and hike to the hilltop Fortica to enjoy the views.

Thanks to the mild climate, the warm winters and pleasant summers Hvar receives many guests, scientists and travellers, who are attracted by the dense mediterranean naturerich tradition and arhitecture, and nightlife. Also, if you choose that place don’t forget to visit Stari Grad, Vis, and Boll.
